Setting the scene for the future of waste management

Providing a sustainable and efficient service to the people of Wales and beyond

Potter Group

Potter Group is an integrated group of business solution companies and a leading provider of sustainable waste management solutions throughout Wales and parts of the West Midlands.

As a third-generation, family-run business with a rich local heritage and an extensive, multi-purpose recycling infrastructure, The Group combine unlimited capabilities with exceptional customer service to support all your waste management needs across Wales, the borders and West Midlands.

From converting waste into renewable energy to power thousands of households in Wales to repurposing carpet waste for the equestrian market, Potter Group have been at the forefront of sustainable resource management innovation for several decades.

We operate a waste transfer station and five recycling centres across Wales, processing all types of commercial, household and garden waste. These operations are supported by our sustainably-focussed carpet recycling, composting and biomass plants, while our two landfill sites turn residual waste products into renewable heat and electricity.

As a multi-disciplinary company, Potter Group also operate a number of services to complement our waste management and recycling facilities. These include domestic and commercial skip waste collections, as well as trade refuse and recycling collection throughout Shropshire, Mid Wales, North Wales and Anglesey and the North West with our joint venture partner, Gaskells Waste Services.

The Group’s skip hire service provides a choice of over 200 skips to serve customers throughout Wales, the borders and West Midlands, while our scrap metal facility covers Wales and the Welsh borders and accepts all types of metals for recycling.

In addition to these core business areas, Potter Group have built an extensive property division, owning a number of commercial and residential properties across Powys, as well as the Potters Garage petrol station in Welshpool.

A key focus of the property division is the restoration of historically significant properties throughout Wales to ensure their continued use into the future. Most notably, the Group have restored the Pryce Jones Building in Newtown and the 300-acre former Victorian model farm, Leighton Farm Estate.

The Group is also highly active in the equestrian field, owning and managing a dynamic team of 25 National Hunt racehorses which run in company livery and promote the Group at national events. The equestrian division is complemented by our innovative carpet fibre product, Canter Carpet, which recycles synthetic carpet fibres into all-weather equestrian surfaces.

Throughout all our operations, we maintain a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, sourcing technologies and embracing best practice which helps us reduce our impact on the environment and benefit the local communities we operate in.

Collectively, we are working to build a brighter tomorrow for future generations.
